If the young lady with the big dream had said she would avoid ever getting a job by MARRYING really rich men, the epithet, “whore”, would not be in play.  Depending on your point of view (and probably gender) you’d be picking a different descriptive word or words.

But in either case, the crisis depicted in the final panel would not be present if the young lady didn’t give a fig about what other people thought.

Appearances have different levels of importance for different people.  I don’t think there’s any right or wrong in this regard, the situation simply exists.  You can move yourself one way of the other along this continuum, and where you sit on the continuum should be your choice, not the choice of others.

I’m not an artist so don’t bothering critiquing my amateurish efforts.

This is the Egg that saved Christmas.  Here’s the story, hot off the press/internet:

BURLESON, Texas — A Fort Worth-area couple said one of their hens laid an egg with a cross on the end of it. Pam and Tracy Norrell of Burleson, who displayed the odd-shaped egg, said they believe it’s a sign of encouragement during the holiday season.

Tracy Norrell said he was gathering eggs Monday night when one he picked up seemed to be unusual, not smooth like other eggs. The misshapen egg has an indentation on one end with what appears to be a cross on it.

The Norrells said eating the egg is not an option.

The only point I wish to make is that when you twist the egg 90 degrees, it looks like a big ugly bird in flight.  And so The Church of the Big Ugly Bird also has proof that ghawd loves them and is sending a sign.

There are other issues that could be made here, but it would be pointless.  Either you believe in the Big Ugly Bird or you don’t… Heathen!

If Google said they were going to charge $1 a month to use all their current ‘free’ services, who wouldn’t pay it?

Have you ever wondered how Organized Crime manages to stay organized, when they don’t seem to do much in the way of preparing for their future labor needs?

But then there’s probably something to be said for not having to live on a budget, although trying to fly ‘under the radar’ would seem to put some constraints on how you spent your money.

I am a fan of technology.  But I’m not a fan of people using technology as a means of proliferating just how ordinary, callow and mundane they are.  If you want proof of how most of us use technology to increase the number of people we can bore and annoy, I offer my blog as proof.

But I’ll let you judge for yourself just how important every blog, comment, post, tweet, text message and email you send is to the successful, harmonious reign of mankind on this Earth.

But this message to mankind is about as useful as the cries we all hear from global weather alarmists; humanity is not going to change!
